Easter school 2024 - Basic plan

schedule for the day :1 draft 

9:30 am short safety brief and housekeeping 

9:45 am drum circle using individual snares and Tom . Call and response exploring  African rhythms and history of drumming .   Led by drum master for beginners and intermediates 

10:30 am pass the rhythm game ( musical chairs for drums ) for timing  and listening skill building for beginners and intermediate 

11:15 am 15 min break 

11:30 am breakout into skill groups groups 

Kit & snare groups . Kits chop building drills and snare rudiment building . Intense hand workouts,  rhythm building drills , introduction to rudiments . Tailored to individual strengths . Beginners and intermediate grouped together . 

1 pm : lunch 

1:30 pm group song production workshop / group song selection and soloing ideas . For beginners and intermediate 

2:00 pm rehearsal on kit and snare  production 

3:30 pm song rehearsal 

3:50 pm - performance of song as group 

4:00 pm finish 


day 2 :

9:30 am short safety brief and housekeeping 

9:45 am drum circle run by drummers  using individual snares and tons ( each student has turn at drum master ) for beginners and intermediate 

10:30 am drum kit and snare skill building drills 

11:15 am 15 min break 

11:30 am breakout into skill workshop music  film making and song  recording and engineering..  ipad garage band imovie required 

1 pm : lunch 

1:30 pm individual song production workshop / individuals select their own song  or soloing ideas 

2:00 pm rehearsal on kit and snare  production 

3:30 pm individual song rehearsal - with individual mentoring 

3:30pm    performance of song by each individual and video production ( parents invited to watch ) 

4:00 pm finish 


Terms And conditions:


1. All workshops are subject to suitable numbers. Minimum 6 participants per day/ Max 12 Participants will be notified in advance in the event of cancelation. 

2. the Workshop is open to general public children and teenagers and NDIS participants

3. The event is supervised by Andre Lindsey Police checked ,  working with children checked,and a trained first aider ( Children maybe be supervised by adult or trusted guardian if wanted. All NDIS participants must be supervised at event.

4. Food and drink is complimentary only . For specific dietary requirements please BYO food and drink. ( No pork in food ) 

5. In the event of the event being cancelled full refund is offered. 

6. Workshop must be pre booked and paid online.

7. The event will not be filmed. No photography allowed with out expressed permission from childrens parents or guardian. the event or parts there will not be published for social media with out expressed permission .  Song production and video production using Garage Band & Imovie , made  on an individuals apparatus will not be shared and made for private use only  ) expressed permission to participate in individual song & music video production from  parent or trusted guardian ) 

if their is a privacy  breach the offending will

be asked to leave without refund 

8. A break out area with phone charging and chill out is provided . 

9 . Extreme weather - event will be cancelled at discretion of organisers  . ( extreme heat of cold etc ) 

10. if participant books the 2 day work shop and decides to cancel 2nd day . As long as sufficient 

number exist a full refund is offered . ( minimum

number is 6 . 

11. the workshop is not suitable for adults . Designed for teens and juniors under 18 years . 

12. If a participant is disruptive or shows disrespect to others with poor behaviour they will be asked to leave the event 

13 . Strictly no smoking or drink acceptable . 

14 . Free parking  all day at event . Across the road at 24 Coleridge street . 

15 . some  advanced students may assist master drummer . 

16. toilets and breakout facilities available .
